Father, just as we enjoy the nourishment of food at mealtime to grow us physically, so we enjoy the nourishment of Your Word that builds us spiritually. We have tasted and seen that You are good. Fill us to overflowing through the reading and application of Your Holy Word and through the daily fellowship of Your Holy Spirit. We gladly accept Jesus’ invitation to come and dine at His table of forgiveness, compassion, humility, acceptance, and joy beyond measure. It is a table fit for royalty and peasant alike, for we are one and the same in the eyes of our Creator, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Amen.

A Prayer For A Willing Heart

Father, You’ve called us all to a life of obedience. This includes the command that we are to raise our families in such a way that they will come to know You and grow in godliness in accordance to their individual faith. We also have opportunity to influence others for Jesus as we follow the great commission in reaching out to those who don’t know Him, whether it’s our neighbor, co-worker, team member or the homeless living on the streets. We want to make a difference in our world, one person at a time, since You touch individual hearts for the kingdom one at a time. We want to faithfully do our part through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray.

A Prayer For Patience In Trials

Father, we pray that You will help us to grow in Your grace and knowledge, that we will continue to mature in our Christian walk. Scripture, repeatedly, indicates that spiritual maturity is a result of enduring trials of various kinds. In the midst of these trials Your soft prompting or guidance through Scripture, through other believers, and through the circumstances we face can easily be ignored when self gets in the way. Today we make every effort to add to our faith those characteristics that will sustain and grow us in our Christian walk. In so doing we will be effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, during times of ease but even more so during times of difficulty. Keep us faithful and keep us growing, in the name of Jesus we pray.
