Father, You were King of the heavens before there was time and You will be King for all eternity. What joy and assurance that truth brings to our spirits today in light of the increasing evil of our day. Our temporal burdens are lightened when we transport our hearts to the New Jerusalem where there is no temple in the City because You, Lord God Almighty are the City’s temple. The City won’t need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because Your glory is its light, and the Lamb is the City’s lamp. Nothing unclean and no one who does shameful things or tells lies will ever go into it. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter the City. We want to walk earnestly with you on this earth and snatch the unredeemed from the flames of hell and eternal separation from You, Father. Keep us fervent in our witness and faithful in our service. In the blessed name of Jesus we pray.

Great Shepherd of our souls, we look to You for guidance, wisdom, and protection. Just as a good shepherd would lay down his life to save his sheep You laid down Your life to save us from our sins. There is none in all the world who can save us for all eternity except You so we are fully indebted to You for giving Your all that we might experience abundant life here, now, and forevermore.

“Father, it is only through the sacrificial blood of Your Son that my sins are forgiven.  My guilty stains are plunged into the bottom of the ocean to be remembered no more.  All the adjectives in one’s vocabulary cannot adequately describe the depth of my gratitude for such a selfless act of love.  Your redeeming blood sacrifice frees us from the penalty of sin in this life and for all eternity.  Thank You, Jesus, for freely shedding Your blood on my behalf.  Amen.”

“Father, Your grace has no measure and it was graciously extended to me the hour I first believed and started my spiritual race. You not only prepared the way but You also run alongside me and enable me to throw off those things that hinder or weigh me down. You’ve given me an enduring spirit to stay on course during the desirable and undesirable starts of new chapters in my life. It’s not the one who runs the swiftest, nor the one who runs for a day, but it’s the one who endures to the end that will be saved. I want to be among that number, and by Your grace, I will receive the eternal rewards that come to those who finish well. And then I start the next chapter that never has an ending; that of living in heaven and praising You for all eternity. I can hardly wait. Amen.”
