“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.”
Psalm 119:114
“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.”
Psalm 119:114
Father, You bless those those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. The sweetness of Your Word is like sweet honey in our mouth that reminds us of Your faithfulness, Your goodness and Your mercy that overflows into our lives as You forgive us of our sins and provide us with an abundant life. Your Words are a sweet savor to our soul as we walk obediently according to Your Word.
Amen.
Father, Your Word tells us that Jesus suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we might also suffer indignity and injustice just as the disciples did, many of them giving their lives for the Gospel. But when we consider all that You have set before us; redemption, forgiveness, a clear conscience, a pure heart, a satisfied mind, virtuous gifts that increase over a lifetime, unconditional love, grace beyond measure and a home prepared for me in heaven, things suffered in this life pale in comparison. May the lives we live, the words we speak, and the love we generously pour out to others “amaze” those who see it so that they might declare, “We recognize them as having been with Jesus.” In the name of Jesus we pray.
Amen.
“Get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.”
James 1:21
“Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4
“I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.”
Psalm 138:2
“As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.”
Psalm 18:30
Father, the teaching of Your Word is like a hammer that breaks away the clumps of hardness in our hearts; our stubbornness, pride, and rebellion. When we read and apply Your principles they open our blinded eyes, guide us out of darkness into light and put a fire in our spirit; a fire that doesn’t burn out but empowers us to live for You all the days of our life. We thank You for the fire of Your Spirit. It is in Jesus’ name that we pray.
Amen.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
“But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:”
