A Prayer For Godly Priorities
Father, You have shown the greatest example of what it is to be rich toward us in countless ways, but most especially when You gave Your only Son to be our Savior. You extended to us full forgiveness when we could do nothing to earn it. May we likewise be rich toward You giving ourselves fully in love, obedience, in our resources, and in loving others as we love ourselves. Rather than seeking first a comfortable and secure life here on earth, help us to remember that will come to us in heaven. Instead help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness and all that is needed will be given to us by Your gracious hand. We thank You for it in Jesus’ name.

Father, Your patience and longsuffering toward a rebellious, hardhearted people is only possible because of Your loving compassion and tender mercies. You are slow to anger and abounding in love, full of forgiveness and healing. We are the undeserving recipients of Your remarkable redemption made available to all who call upon Your name. Thank You for bearing with us and loving us long before we responded to Your love. Help us to look intently into Your Holy Word and apply its teaching so that we enjoy freedom from sin, unceasing joy, and the promise of eternity spent with You. A Prayer For Being Ready
Father, though we’re uncertain of the date that we will leave this world, we can be certain of our readiness to meet You when we depart. Jesus sacrificed His life to take away our sins; to make provision for our forgiveness here and now and to provide for our eternal resting place in heaven. We leave an example for others to know the way to life eternal by the narrative of our life. We want to take as many as possible with us, so we must tell the story of Jesus and live in such a way that we show others the way to His love and forgiveness; and thereby make proper preparations for their day of departure. Our time of expiration may surprise others but You have our days numbered and await our arrival on the other side. We rest in Your hands and walk in the power of Your resurrected life. We thank You, Father, through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

“Father, You who created the heavens and the earth; You who created Jacob, and formed Israel have also chosen to redeem us. You even call us by Your name as we, Your redeemed, are children of the King. We are joint heirs with You through no goodness of our own or merits that we’ve earned, but only through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, who gave His life that we might have forgiveness of sins and become Your children. There are so many stories in the Gospels where these qualities are easily seen in the friendships You had with the disciples and others. May the foundation of my friendships be based on godly traits as I come alongside my friends to encourage, challenge, inspire, and stimulate them toward good works in Your name, Jesus.
