Matthew 5:11-12
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Matthew 5:11-12
Psalm 94:12
“Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law.”
Father, we are a blessed people because You choose to be “merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love” toward Your creation. These complimentary characteristics of mercy, grace, longsuffering and steadfast love are evident in Your choice to forgive those who repent and believe Your promises in Christ Jesus. If You had merely sent Jesus to teach us about Himself and serve as our example, that would have been far more than we deserve. But You sent Him to die for our sins. He was rich in love toward us, not after we cleaned up the mess of our lives, but even while we were dead in our trespasses and sins. Such love is supreme, steadfast and unending in supply. Thank You for meeting our greatest need and caring about our smallest one. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
A Prayer For Being An Encourager
Father, kingdom principles that Jesus taught and modeled such as, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” is especially true when we give ourselves fully to the work of the Gospel, encouraging and spurring one another on toward growth in Christ and the good deeds that follow. When we share with others and invest in their lives, we find ourselves mutually blessed, encouraged and built up in the faith as Christ is at work in our hearts. It in His name that we pray.
Amen.
A Prayer For Blessed Reconciliation
Father, the Scriptures, filled with principles and doctrine, come alive when applied to everyday life. We see this when reading the positive and negative examples of Bible characters and the way they handled everyday disappointment and conflict in their lives. Though Paul and Barnabas were in sharp disagreement they surely both made important points regarding the merit of John Mark’s qualifications. Help us to exercise the gift of disagreeing a point without being a disagreeable person. Instead of slandering an individual(s) help us to respect differing views when the answer isn’t clearly laid out in Scripture. As we prayerfully discuss our differences and remain respectful toward one another we will be bound all together in perfect unity, bearing with each other and forgiving the one we have a grievance against. We will forgive as You have forgiven us.
Amen

Bible Love Quotes: James 1:12
“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

A Prayer Expressing Faith In Christ
Jesus, we want to fix our eyes, our thoughts, and our affections on You, our blessed Redeemer. Though You faced enormous opposition that would provide understandable excuse for altering Your redemption plan, nevertheless You endured the cross and scorned it’s shame. Thank you that you died for our sins and rose in victory and returned to Your Father to sit at His right hand. When we consider the depth of Your commitment we’re even more determined to be faithful in the night seasons of our Christian walk. Help us to endure by keeping our eyes, not on that which is seen, but on the unseen future rewards that You promise to those who are faithful. We pray this in Your name.
Amen.
