Father, it would seem that we would become orphans of the faith when Jesus departed from the earth and ascended into heaven. But You did not leave us comfortless or without guidance. Instead, Your Holy Spirit empowers us so that we can effectively proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through Scriptural teaching and through our godly example. Help us to be faithful in our walk and witness in the mission field You’ve appointed us to. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

A Prayer For Spiritual Preparedness
Father, as believers, we are watching for the return of Christ. We cast aside behaviors and attitudes that distract our minds or weigh our hearts down with the cares and mindset of this world; otherwise, we will be caught off guard and fall into the enemy’s trap. We want to be sober, vigilant, and living in anticipation for that glorious day when the redeemed will be caught up in the air to meet Jesus. And so we will be with You forevermore. Amen.

A Prayer For Spiritual Hope
Father, we are so very thankful for all the blessings we enjoyed over the past year. There were many opportunities for rejoicing and plenty of opportunities for trusting. Your mercies are renewed daily and Your provision is experienced in our lives each moment of every day. We seek You for guidance in the new year and growth in our daily Christian walk. Though we cannot know the future we can have assurance of Your faithfulness because You are a God that does not change. Every promise You’ve made is true as we have seen in the Biblical records. This gives us reason to trust You for the dawning of a new year where we will once again experience Your guiding presence in our daily lives. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Amen.
